Position OverviewThe Carpenter – Foreman will lead a crew of carpenters across different job sites to safely and efficiently execute framing, formwork, finish carpentry, and related construction activities in alignment with project specifications, schedule, quality standards and budget. This position requires frequent overnight travel to project sites for the duration of the project.
Essential Functions
Crew leadership and Planning:
Assign daily tasks; set clear expectations, productivity goal, and quality standards
Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and shop drawings
Develop daily work plans and look-ahead schedules for multiple job sites
Oversee and perform layout, framing, sheathing, formwork, concrete placement support, installation of doors, windows, hardware, millwork and finish carpentry
Model and enforce OSHA, company and site-specific safety policies
Inspect work for conformance to project specifications and tolerances, correct deficiencies promptly
Coordinate with inspectors and site supervisors; document work progress and issues
Communicate scope changes, delays, RFIs, and constraints to site superintendent/project manager
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program; OR at least 10 years of experience via on-the-job training
2+ years of crew leadership or foreman experience
Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
Certified to operate lifts, lulls, skid steers, etc.
Ability to properly care for and use tools of trade
Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, climbing. Bending, and kneeling
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination
Travel
This position requires full-time travel to various job sites for the duration of the project.

Position Overview
The Carpenter will perform a variety of rough carpentry, finish carpentry and general construction tasks to support project teams. This position requires frequent overnight travel to project sites for the duration of the project.
Essential Functions
Perform carpentry work including but not limited to the following:
Install, repair, and maintain handrails in commercial settings
Set and align doors, door frames, and install door hardware
Rough carpentry including framing, blocking, and structural modifications
Install casework, millwork, and specialty carpentry components
Install Windowsills and Countertops.
Construct temporary walls, temporary windows, and other temp enclosures for jobsite safety and phasing
Install bathroom partitions, accessories, and related fixtures
Read, interpret, and work from construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently
Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to company and jobsite safety policies
Communicate with site supervisors, project managers, and clients professionally
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent
Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position OverviewCooperative Building Solutions (CBS) internship program is designed to give students exposure to the full life cycle of construction projects and the office environment. Interns will get to work with all departments across the organization to give them a full view of life at CBS.
Essential Functions

Supporting Project teams with general contract administration
Assist with scheduling, work planning and sequencing
Coordinating material and equipment procurement and delivery
Supporting shop drawing and submittal review, tracking and document control

Support cost tracking, change management, and billing
Assist with project close out process
Perform quantity takeoff from bid documents
Review subcontractor bids for scope completeness

Research and recommend construction means, methods, and equipment

Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field
GPA of 3.0 or above
Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills
Strong work ethic, problem solving skills and an eagerness to learn
Willingness to commute and/or relocate for the duration of the internship
